“Rain Rain go away, come back another day” sings my three year old. Quickly I reply “Honey, remember daddy loves the rain….and hurricanes and typhoons too.”
You see in our business rain is our friend. We do not fear it, we embrace it. That’s why we are so successful. We take wet, musty, and flooded areas and make them usable again.
I was in a home just the other day and the homeowner wondered why her family room, that was above grade, had this horrible smell when it rained. The room sat atop a 36 inch deep crawlspace with a dirt floor. As soon as I opened the rusted old metal door the odor hit me so hard my eyes watered. “CleanSpace Encapsulation” I declared. With a puzzled look my customer asks “WHAT?”
We sat down and went over our CleanSpace solution. Needless to say Quality 1st will be installing it next week. She is no longer dreading the summer rains.

I went on an appointment a few weeks ago in Bergan county for a basement waterproofing issue. I get there an notice that the Home Owner has a fully waterproofed basement with a full perimeter drainage system and a sump pump they was no more then one year old. After talking the the Home Owners for alittle bit and asking them a few simple questions I discovered that the problem was only in one area and besides that the system worked fine. But they what is causing the water in this one spot to get onto the floor and not drain to the sump pump like the rest of the system. After checking outside to see if there was an extra water run off that was maybe pooling in this one area I decided to think of something much simpler. Is the sump pump in the lowest spot? And of course the answer was NO. So once we had that problem figured out the Home Owner was very thankful that I didnt just write up a full permeter systems and say they needed to replace the old one like two other companies have. We installed a new UltraSump at the “Lowest” spot with a battery and he hasnt had any water since, so in the end the basics do matter.

The rains this week took me into crawlspaces throughout New Jersey. Lucky for my customers we have our Basement Systems Cleanspace encapsulation system. The water in the crawlspace was only 2 ft from their living room floor. The wood beams were starting to rot from the excess moisture. The smell was awful. Flooding is never a pleasant affair.
Our Cleanspace system along with a SaniDry Air Dehumidifier will make a huge difference for this family.
